CASA Training Presentation: Mental Health/Substance Abuse

On 4/3/24, Founder of VATAWWU, Linda Gammon Powell, went to Goochland County Va and spoke to the Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) trainees about mental health, substance abuse, and it's impact on the family. Linda touched on multiple mental health disorders and their symptoms. She addressed common misconceptions and stigmas surrounding mental health. Linda also talked about substance abuse and the different types of substances commonly used, as well as shared personal experiences on how mental health and substance abuse can impact the family as a whole.
